Ulefone Tab A9 Pro & A9 Pro Kids: Ulefone Tab A9 Pro and Tab A9 Pro Kids leak with 90Hz display, Android 15, triple cameras, and prices starting at just $99.99. Official launch expected on September 15.

Budget tablets are often overlooked, but sometimes a new leak manages to grab attention. Ulefone is quietly preparing a pair of compact Android slates that seem ready to challenge what people expect from entry-level devices. Early details hint at smooth performance, thoughtful features, and prices that could make them hard to ignore.

Ulefone Tab A9 Pro-Small, light, and well-rounded

The Tab A9 Pro is designed as a compact yet capable slate. It features an 8.68-inch display with a 1340×800 resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits peak brightness. The higher refresh rate should make scrolling, reading, and light gaming feel smoother than the usual 60Hz panels that dominate this price range. On top of that, the tablet supports Widevine L1, which means supported apps can stream in 1080p a rarity in budget tablets where video often defaults to grainy SD quality.

Under the hood, the device runs on the MediaTek Helio G91 chipset, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, expandable by up to 2TB via microSD. It will ship with Android 15, making it one of the first budget tablets to offer Google’s latest software.

The tablet also carries a 5,040mAh battery with 18W USB-C charging, LTE support, dual stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack a feature that is increasingly rare in 2025. At 7.9mm thick and weighing just 326.5 grams, it is slim and easy to carry. Buyers will be able to choose between Marble White and Galaxy Blue colors. The starting price is set at $99.99 (€85/INR 8,730).

For cameras, Ulefone is trying something unusual in this segment. The front houses an 8MP Samsung sensor, while the back includes a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary lens and a 13MP Samsung ultrawide camera with a 136.5° field of view. While no one expects tablet cameras to replace smartphones, the ultrawide could come in handy for school projects, whiteboard scans, or group shots.

Ulefone Tab A9 Pro Kids-Built for families

The Tab A9 Pro Kids is essentially the same device, but designed with younger users in mind. It comes with a colorful rugged case, a dual-tip stylus, and a Child-Friendly Mode to give parents more control over content and screen time.

Without the case, it weighs 326.2 grams, while the protective cover increases the weight to about 516 grams. The durability boost makes it better suited for kids who may not always handle their devices carefully. The kids’ version will be available in Pink and Blue, priced at $109.99 (€95/INR 9,600).

A budget duo to watch

Ulefone already introduced the Tab A10 Pro last November, but the A9 series takes a different approach smaller, lighter, and even more affordable. With 90Hz screens, HD streaming support, and expandable storage, both models look like strong options for students, first-time buyers, and families who want practical tablets without spending much.
