Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6: The Galaxy Z Flip6 just picked up the One UI 8 Beta 2 update with Now Brief, bug fixes, and the September 2025 security patch. Here is what is new.
Samsung has rolled out a new test update for the Galaxy Z Flip6, and it brings something useful. The second One UI 8 beta adds Now Brief, a lock screen tool that shows things like weather, calendar plans, and reminders in quick cards. It is made for easy glances without opening apps. Along with this, the update also fixes several issues and adds the latest security patch, making the Flip6 run better day to day.
Now Brief Comes to the Flip6
Now Brief was first introduced on the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year as part of Galaxy AI. Its arrival on the Flip6 through One UI 8 Beta 2 marks the first time Samsung has extended it to a foldable. Once enabled, the feature delivers real-time updates directly on your lock screen, notification shade, or the Now Bar. Users can customize what appears by navigating to Settings → Galaxy AI → Now Brief, choosing the categories they care about most. It is a smarter way to keep up with daily life without opening multiple apps.

Bug Fixes and September Security Patch
The new firmware, F741NKSU2ZYHB, is rolling out first in South Korea and comes in at around 914MB. Along with Now Brief, it includes the September 2025 security patch and a long list of bug fixes that polish the Flip6 experience.

Samsung specifically addressed:
- Android Auto disruptions, which were disconnecting mid-use
- Cover screen widget errors that caused glitches in mini apps
- Camera preview issues, improving stability in the viewfinder
- Flex Mode zoom problems during video recording
- Multi-window icon overlap, which caused clutter in multitasking
- Lock screen notification errors, where only icons showed instead of full content
- Delayed screen wake when unfolding the device
These fixes remove small but noticeable annoyances, making the Flip6 feel smoother and more dependable for daily use.
How to Get the Update
If you own a Galaxy Z Flip6 and are registered in the One UI 8.0 Beta Program, you can install the update right away. Go to Settings → Software update → Download and install. Once the package is downloaded, tap Install now, and your phone will restart to apply the changes. The whole process only takes a few minutes.
Beta Program Expansion
The Galaxy Z Flip6 is part of Samsung’s wider One UI 8 beta program, which also covers the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy Z Fold6. The rollout started in South Korea and the United Kingdom, with the United States and India set to follow. Older models like the Galaxy Z Flip5, Z Fold5, and Galaxy S23 series will also be added in September, while the stable One UI 8 release is expected later this fall.
For Flip6 users, Now Brief is more than just a lock screen upgrade. It perfectly complements the flip phone’s design philosophy: glance, act, and move on. With AI-powered cards, bug fixes, and the latest security patch, One UI 8 Beta 2 makes the Flip6 smarter, smoother, and more helpful in everyday use.
