The culmination of a four-year bet
Tipster Yogesh Brar claims the new Image Engine is the direct outcome of a four-year R&D roadmap. Unlike past tuning efforts, this platform reportedly integrates advanced algorithms to enhance low-light detail, refine skin tones, and expand dynamic range in ways OnePlus has never achieved before. Paired with the rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (also known as Gen 5) chipset and a triple 50MP rear camera system, the Image Engine could deliver OnePlus’s most ambitious photography upgrade yet, positioning it to challenge Samsung, Google, and Apple head-on.
Goodbye Hasselblad?
One of the biggest questions is whether this move also means the end of OnePlus 4.5-year partnership with Hasselblad.
