Google Pixel: Google’s September 2025 Pixel Drop brings the colorful Material 3 Expressive redesign, Live Effects, Pixel Watch navigation, and smarter Pixel Buds Pro 2 features.
Your Pixel is about to get a fresh new look. Google’s latest update introduces the colorful Material 3 Expressive design, smoother animations, and smart extras like hands-free Pixel Buds controls and automatic Maps on your watch. It is rolling out now to Pixel 6 and newer phones, as well as the Pixel Tablet, and it might make your device feel brand new again.
A brighter, more personal design
Material 3 Expressive softens sharp edges, adds fluid animations, and introduces friendlier shapes across the system. Incoming calls now appear as full-screen cards with photos, fonts, and colors that you can personalize to match your style. Quick Settings has also been cleaned up, making it easier to scan and use at a glance.
Google is also rolling out Live Effects, which let your lock screen wallpaper react with animations like playful shapes or weather effects. Combined with Material You theming, your Pixel can now look and feel more personal than ever.

Smarter connections across devices
Pixel Drops are designed to keep devices working seamlessly together, and this one makes everyday tasks easier. Start walking or biking directions on your phone, and Google Maps will now automatically show on your Pixel Watch no tapping required. Navigation simply appears on your wrist, perfect when exploring somewhere new.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 are also getting a major boost. Later this month, Adaptive Audio will intelligently adjust volume based on your environment, while Loud Noise Protection safeguards your hearing. You can even nod to answer calls or shake your head to ignore them hands-free control that feels natural when running, cooking, or commuting. And with clearer audio tuning, you can chat with Gemini even in noisy spaces, like when the TV is on or people are talking nearby.
Small details that add up
Beyond Pixel exclusives, the September Drop includes Android-wide tweaks: Bluetooth audio sharing, AI writing suggestions in Gboard, a tidier Quick Share menu, fresh Emoji Kitchen favorites, and even the return of Androidify, which turns your selfie into a personalized Android bot. These little touches may not grab headlines but make your phone feel quicker and more personal.
