Honor Magic8 series: Honor has confirmed the Magic8 series will launch in Q4 2025. Expect AI-first features with MagicOS 10, a dedicated AI button, and a powerful 200MP telephoto camera.

Honor has confirmed that its next flagship, the Magic8 series, will launch in the fourth quarter of 2025. The news was shared by Guo Rui, Honor’s Brand Marketing President and CMO, who called it an “AI-native smartphone” and one of the most exciting flagships of the year. While the exact date is not set, leaks suggest a mid-to-late November debut, possibly just before the Huawei Mate 80 series. That timing would let Honor go head-to-head with Huawei, while also competing with the iPhone 17 and Xiaomi 17 lineups.

AI-first features with MagicOS 10

The Magic8 series will mark the debut of MagicOS 10, which Honor CEO James Li has confirmed will come with deep AI integration powered by a large language model (LLM). Rumors suggest a dedicated AI button on the phone’s frame, giving users instant access to smart tools and automations without searching through menus. Honor’s messaging positions the Magic8 as a “native AI phone” designed to assist users seamlessly throughout the day.

Camera technology takes center stage

Cameras will remain a big selling point. Reports indicate that the Magic8 Pro could feature a 200MP telephoto sensor enhanced by NoxGod technology, delivering sharper zoom shots and improved low-light results. A direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) sensor is also expected, improving depth accuracy and focusing speed.

Staggered rollout expected

Honor may follow the same playbook as last year. The Magic7 series launched on October 30, 2024, while the Magic7 RSR Porsche Design edition came later in December to challenge Huawei’s Mate 70 Pro+. A similar split strategy is likely this year, with the Magic8 and Magic8 Pro debuting first in Q4 and the Magic8 Ultra and Magic8 Mini rolling out in early 2026.

What comes next

Honor has not sent invitations yet, but with Q4 locked in, the reveal could be weeks away. If Honor times the launch before Huawei’s Mate 80, it will set up one of the most competitive flagship clashes of 2025. With AI at its core, upgraded cameras, and a staggered model rollout, the Magic8 series is already shaping up as one of the year’s most closely watched launches.
