Realme GT8 Pro: Realme GT8 Pro launches in October with a 2K BOE screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, R1 gaming chip, 200MP telephoto, 50MP main camera, and 7000mAh battery with 120W charging.

What if your phone could play games sharper, run smoother, and still last all day? That is what Realme is aiming for with the upcoming GT8 Pro. Launching in October, it packs a custom 2K BOE display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, an R1 gaming chip, and a huge 200MP zoom camera powered by a massive 7000mAh battery with super-fast charging.

A 2K “Sky Screen” made for comfort and speed

The biggest headline upgrade is the 2K flat AMOLED screen, developed in collaboration with BOE on a customized Q10+ production line. Unlike the curved panel on the GT7 Pro, this one is flat with symmetrical slim bezels, making it both gamer-friendly and easier to protect with a screen guard.

Realme says the screen brings six major upgrades: resolution, refresh rate, brightness, shape, eye protection, and color accuracy. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness up to 7,000 nits, and hardware-level color calibration for more accurate colors. Eye protection features include full-brightness DC dimming, a 1-nit low-brightness mode, and circular polarization to reduce glare. Together, these enhancements suggest Realme is not just chasing specs but focusing on real-world comfort.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with R1 gaming chip

The GT8 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, Qualcomm’s most advanced chipset yet. To push gaming further, Realme adds its own R1 “independent graphics” chip, creating a dual-engine performance system aimed at keeping frame rates stable while managing heat.

To complete the immersion, the phone will feature symmetrical dual speakers for loud, balanced sound and an X-axis linear motor for precise haptic feedback.

Massive battery and 3C-certified charging

The GT8 Pro has already passed China’s 3C certification, confirming support for 120W wired fast charging. Reports also point to a 7000mAh battery, one of the largest in any premium smartphone. For the first time in the GT series, Realme is also expected to include wireless charging, making power management more flexible.

Cameras: 200MP zoom backed by 50MP sensors

Realme is making a bold statement with its cameras. The GT8 Pro is set to introduce a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, branded as “Ultra Eye,” which promises cleaner zoom shots with less blur. Earlier reports also revealed a 50MP main camera and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, rounding out a versatile triple-lens system.

On the design side, Realme is introducing a new DECO camera layout, which VP Xu Qi describes as the company’s “most daring design yet.”

Realme UI 7.0 debut and launch plans

The GT8 Pro will also be the first phone to launch with Realme UI 7.0, offering smoother animations, more natural transitions, and enhanced light-and-shadow effects across the interface. The new UI is also said to bring better gaming integration for a more interactive experience.

Realme has confirmed that the GT8 series will launch in China this October, followed by a global rollout. Pricing has been teased at under CNY 5,000 (around $700), making it one of the most aggressively priced flagships with such hardware.

Why it matters

The GT8 Pro is shaping up to be more than just another performance phone. With a gamer-focused 2K/144Hz flat screen, a dual-chip performance system, a 200MP periscope plus 50MP triple camera setup, and a 7000mAh battery with 120W fast charging, Realme is clearly refining the features that matter most in daily use. If these teasers hold true, October could bring one of the most compelling straight-screen flagships of the year without the usual flagship price tag.
