Honor Magic8 and Magic8 Pro: Honor officially launches Magic8 and Magic8 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, AI Button, 200MP telephoto camera, and 7,200mAh battery. Prices start at $630 in China.

Smarter AI with the new YOYO agent

The highlight of the Magic8 series is the AI Button, which gives users quick access to Honor’s upgraded YOYO assistant. A long press launches YOYO Video Call capable of recognizing and analyzing objects in real time while a double press captures photos, and a single tap can trigger any preferred shortcut. YOYO also automates thousands of on-device tasks such as cleaning blurry screenshots, summarizing expenses, or organizing notes without relying on external apps.

Running MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, both phones deliver a sleek interface and seamless integration across Android, iOS, and Windows. YOYO now builds an on-device knowledge base from user interactions to offer smarter suggestions while keeping privacy intact.

Honor Magic8 Pro: Power and precision

The Magic8 Pro sports a 6.71-inch OLED LTPO display with 1256 x 2808 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an astonishing 6,000 nits peak brightness. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera paired with a 3D depth camera for secure facial recognition. It also features a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

At the back, the Magic8 Pro features a triple camera setup led by a 200MP telephoto unit (1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture, OIS, and 3.7x optical zoom). The setup also includes a 50MP main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor, f/1.6, OIS) and a 50MP ultrawide lens offering a 122° field of view. This combination is supported by Honor’s new Magic Color Engine and AI stabilization that improve night and zoom photography.

The Magic8 Pro runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It packs a 7,200mAh silicon-carbon battery in China (7,100mAh globally and 6,270mAh in the EU), supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. The phone is rated IP68/IP69/IP69K, measures 8.4mm thick, and weighs 213g. It is available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, and Black colors.

Honor Magic8: The all-rounder

The standard Magic8 shares the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and YOYO assistant, paired with a slightly smaller 6.58-inch OLED LTPO display. It offers the same 120Hz refresh rate and 6,000-nit brightness, maintaining flagship quality in a more compact size.

On the rear, the Magic8 carries a 50MP main sensor (1/1.56-inch, OIS), a 50MP ultrawide, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. For selfies, there’s a 50MP front camera, though it skips the 3D depth sensor of the Pro model. It also includes an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometric security.

The Magic8 houses a 7,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support. It comes in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan, and Black color options.

Both phones utilize AI-powered GPU-NPU cooperation to enhance performance. Both Magic8 series phones are available for pre-order in China, with first sales beginning October 23, 2025.
