OxygenOS 16: OxygenOS 16 is here, OnePlus’s biggest software leap yet, featuring advanced AI tools, Gemini integration, creative editing options, stronger privacy, and seamless cross-device connections.
OnePlus has officially launched OxygenOS 16, its next big software update built on Android 16. The new version focuses on smarter AI features, smoother performance, better design, and stronger device connectivity. OnePlus says its goal remains simple to make your phone faster, easier, and more personal. With OxygenOS 16, that experience feels more natural and connected than ever.
Smarter with OnePlus AI
OnePlus believes AI should be useful, intuitive, and genuinely helpful. The new AI suite in OxygenOS 16 brings that idea to life.
Plus Mind acts as your second brain. You can long-press the Plus Key to record a 60-second voice note, and AI will instantly create a title, transcript, and smart tags for quick access later. It even connects related notes automatically for easier organization.
With Smart Collections, similar items are grouped together without manual effort. Save a recipe, a restaurant review, and a cooking video, and OxygenOS 16 automatically organizes them into a “Food Ideas” collection.
Thanks to Google Gemini integration, users can now search or interact with their Mind Space using simple voice commands. Gemini does more than find your content it uses it. Ask, “Plan a 5-day Tokyo trip using my notes,” and it will build a full itinerary from your saved flights and hotel details.

The new AI Writer makes creativity effortless. It can generate smart captions for social media photos, transform your text into visual mind maps or tables, and refine drafts inside nearly any app. Whether you are creating posts or brainstorming ideas, it saves time while keeping your writing natural and engaging.

For meetings and classes, the AI Recorder Assistant adds instant titles, summaries, and speaker identification. It transcribes conversations automatically and uses AI noise cancellation to make speech crystal clear, even in noisy environments.

Seamless connection and smoother performance
OxygenOS 16 enhances how your devices work together. With Phone Screen Cast to PC, you can mirror and control your phone directly from your computer using a USB or cloud connection. It is perfect for presentations or managing mobile apps from your desk.

Performance improvements are another highlight. The Heavy-Duty Stability system ensures smooth multitasking, while Seamless Parallel Animations connect every gesture and transition across the UI for a unified, fluid experience.

Imaging, design, and security upgrades
OxygenOS 16 brings creative flexibility with AI Portrait Glow, which improves lighting in portraits for natural, flattering results. Motion Photos now support Collage and Slow-Mo effects, and the new All-Round Video Editor lets you trim, merge, adjust speed, and add music all from your Gallery.

Visually, the update introduces the Flux Theme and Airy Vibes design language. You can use Motion Photos as wallpapers, resize icons, sort apps by category, and enjoy soft blur and light effects with Optical Lights in system apps like Compass and Calculator.
On the security front, OnePlus debuts its Private Computing Cloud, which processes sensitive data securely using CPU and GPU protection. The Plus Lock feature lets users remotely lock lost phones, while SIM Lock automatically secures the device if the SIM card is removed. Both features launch first in India.
