Vivo Y500 Pro: Vivo Y500 Pro debuts in China featuring a 200MP Samsung HP5 camera, 7,000mAh battery, IP68 + IP69 durability, 120Hz AMOLED display, and Dimensity 7400 chip bringing flagship features at mid-range prices.

Vivo has launched the Y500 Pro, a new “mini-flagship” that mixes daily practicality with a premium feel. It improves on the Y400 Pro with faster performance, a bigger 7,000mAh battery, and stronger durability. Despite these upgrades, Vivo keeps the price friendly, making it a powerful yet affordable choice.

Design and Build

Vivo Y500 Pro Design

The Vivo Y500 Pro comes in four stylish finishes: Auspicious Clouds and Gold, Light Green, Soft Powder, and Titanium Black. The back panel is made of satin AG glass, offering a smooth, fingerprint-resistant texture. Measuring 160.23 mm × 74.51 mm × 7.81 mm and weighing 198.6 g, the phone feels balanced and sleek, despite housing a giant 7,000mAh battery.

Vivo Y500 Pro Water proof

One of its biggest highlights is durability. The Y500 Pro is IP68 and IP69 certified, meaning it can survive water immersion, high-pressure hot-water sprays, and dusty environments. Vivo also touts a national standard reliability certification, proving it can endure drops, heat, and environmental stress better than most phones in its price range.

Display: Smooth and Bright

Vivo Y500 Pro Display

Up front, the phone sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2800 × 1260), 20:9 aspect ratio, and 94.17% screen-to-body ratio. It supports 120Hz refresh rate, HDR, and P3 wide color gamut, delivering vivid visuals and sharp contrast.

The display reaches up to 1,600 nits peak brightness, making it ideal for outdoor use. Vivo has added Diamond Shield glass for extra protection, while 3,840Hz PWM dimming, AI Sleep Mode, and anti-fatigue brightness curves enhance comfort during long viewing sessions.

Performance and Storage

Vivo Y500 Pro Processor

The Y500 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, an upgraded version of the Dimensity 7300 found in the Y400 Pro. Built on a 4nm process, it features an octa-core CPU (4 × 2.6GHz + 4 × 2.0GHz) and Mali-G615 GPU, providing smoother performance and efficiency.

RAM options include 8GB or 12GB (LPDDR4X), while storage comes in 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB (UFS 2.2). Although this is a downgrade from the UFS 3.1 used in the previous model, Vivo’s software optimization through OriginOS 6 ensures fluid multitasking and consistent speed. The company also promises up to 60 months of smooth performance, thanks to long-term system tuning.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is the Y500 Pro’s strongest feature. It packs a 7,000mAh single-cell battery, which is 22% larger than the Y400 Pro’s unit. Supported by 90W fast wired charging and OTG reverse charging, it offers long endurance and quick top-ups.

Vivo Y500 Pro Battery

According to Vivo’s internal tests, the phone delivers up to 30.2 days of 4G standby and 24.2 hours of 4G talk time. The company also claims the battery retains at least 80% health after 1,300 charge cycles, thanks to its semi-solid lithium-ion structure that performs well in both hot and cold conditions.

Camera: Big Upgrade with 200MP Sensor

The Y500 Pro features a dual rear camera system headlined by a 200MP Samsung HP5 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size, f/1.88 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). It supports 2µm pixel fusion and up to 30× digital zoom, capturing detailed photos even in low light.

Vivo Y500 Pro camera

A 2MP depth sensor assists with portraits, while the 32MP f/2.45 front camera remains from the Y400 Pro for selfies and video calls. Video recording supports up to 4K resolution with OIS + EIS stabilization. Shooting modes include Night, Pro, Panorama, Super Moon, Food, Underwater, and Micro-Movie, among others.

Connectivity and Features

The Y500 Pro offers dual nano-SIM 5G SA support and broad network coverage across Chinese carriers. It includes Wi-Fi (2.4GHz / 5.1GHz / 5.8GHz), Bluetooth 5.4 with aptX HD and LDAC, USB Type-C, NFC, IR blaster, and OTG. Navigation options cover GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS.

Vivo’s 19-antenna 360° symmetrical layout improves reception by up to 118% in peak conditions, ideal for users in low-signal areas.

For security, the phone includes an in-display optical fingerprint reader and facial recognition. Sensors like the accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, ambient light, e-compass, and infrared remote round out the hardware.

Operating System

The Vivo Y500 Pro runs on OriginOS 6, delivering a clean, customizable interface with enhanced optimization for smooth long-term performance. The software offers a mix of design flexibility, improved animations, and advanced power management suited for daily use.

The Vivo Y500 Pro (Model V2516A) launched in November 2025 in China with four storage configurations:
