Apple Sports adds customizable widgets on iPhone, iPad, and Mac and expands to Austria, France, Germany, and more. Fans can now follow scores and schedules across even more countries and leagues.
Sports fans now have more ways to stay connected, as Apple Sports introduces widgets on iPhone, iPad, and Mac while also expanding availability to eight new countries across Europe.
The new widgets let fans keep real-time updates for favorite teams and leagues directly on their Home Screen. Options include a “My Teams” view for quick access to scores and schedules, or a “League” view covering every team in a competition.
These widgets can be fully customized and placed on multiple devices, ensuring fans never miss updates. Apple has also enhanced Live Activities, allowing users to schedule real-time score updates in advance for upcoming games.
Expansion brings Apple Sports to Austria, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. This broader reach adds to its existing availability in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
With this rollout, Apple has expanded league coverage by including major European soccer tournaments such as Germany’s 2. Bundesliga, France’s Ligue 2, Spain’s Segunda División, Italy’s Serie B, and Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
The app offers a streamlined experience, putting fans’ preferred teams and leagues front and center. Users can check play-by-play action, explore lineups, and tap into Apple TV for live broadcasts on MLS Season Pass and Friday Night Baseball.
Apple Sports remains free to download and use, available on all iPhone models running iOS 17.2 or later. iPhone, iPad and Mac users can also access widgets once they update to the latest software.
