One UI 8: Samsung has ended the beta journey for the Galaxy S25 lineup in Korea, officially rolling out the stable One UI 8.0 based on Android 16. The first device to receive the update is the Galaxy S25 Ultra (model SM-S938N), but the S25, S25+, and even the Edge model are now lining up for the same upgrade.
The stable firmware arrives with the September 1, 2025 security patch and weighs about 555 MB. On the Ultra, it shows up with version strings such as S938NKSU5BYI3 / S938NOKR5BYI3 / S938NKSU5BYI3, with minor variations depending on carriers. This marks the final jump from beta testing to the official release.
Beta Doors Shut
Samsung’s notice inside the Members app makes the transition clear. The beta program is now officially closed. No new beta builds will be released, beta boards and menus inside Members are being locked, and official replies to beta-related questions are ending. Most importantly, staying on beta could block users from both regular updates and future betas.
From this point forward, bug reporting shifts to the standard path through Samsung Members → Send question/error, just like any other stable release.

Who Gets It First
Korean beta testers on the Galaxy S25 Ultra are first in line, followed by the S25 and S25+. Reports also confirm that the Galaxy S25 Edge has joined the rollout with Android 16, showing that the entire S25 family is moving together. Non-beta users are expected to see the same stable builds in gradual waves.
How to Update
Samsung advises users to follow a few simple steps to ensure a smooth upgrade. Start by backing up data using Smart Switch, Samsung Cloud, or Google. Make sure the phone is charged to at least 50% and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. Then, go to Settings → Software update → Download and install to pull in the update.
After the reboot, open the Galaxy Store to update Samsung apps. If any issues remain, users can run diagnostics under Device Care or wipe the cache partition in recovery mode, which is non-destructive and often resolves glitches.
Why It Matters
This rollout firmly places the Galaxy S25 series in Korea on the Android 16 path. By moving to the stable release, users not only gain the latest features and security improvements but also keep their devices eligible for future beta programs. For Galaxy S25 owners, this is the right time to switch and retire the beta profile once and for all.
