Galaxy Watch7: Samsung Galaxy Watch7 One UI 8 Watch Beta 4 update (build ZYI2) improves running and swimming accuracy, adds smoother performance, and includes the September 2025 security patch.

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 8 Watch Beta 4 for the Galaxy Watch7, and it is already getting attention. The update may be small in size, but it brings smoother performance, better reliability, and a step closer to the stable release. For Galaxy Watch7 users, this could be the most important beta yet.

Build details and rollout

The update is rolling out first in South Korea for the Galaxy Watch7 (model SM-L310), which is the open-market variant. It arrives with firmware versions L310XXU1ZYI2 / L310OXM1ZYI2, a download size of 180MB, and includes the September 2025 security patch (250901).

For those keeping track, the Z in “ZYI2” signals it is a beta build, the I maps to September, and “2” means it is the second build of the month. The update is available via the Galaxy Wearable app under Watch settings → Watch software update → Download and install. A wider rollout, including the US, is expected soon.

What is new in Beta 4

The changelog puts the spotlight on fitness accuracy, particularly for running and swimming. Users can expect more reliable pace tracking, better stroke detection, and more consistent distance logs. These refinements build on Beta 3, which already tackled GPS recognition issues, improved hiking route tracking, and fixed an occasional charging bug.

Beta 4 also brings the September 2025 security patch, strengthening protection and stability across the watch. Reports from testers suggest additional polishing, including improved GPS reliability, smoother performance, and minor fixes to watch face animations.

Practical update tips

  • Keep your watch on the charger with at least 50% battery before starting.
  • Ensure your phone stays nearby with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on.
  • After installing, check Settings › About watch › Software to confirm the build is ZYI2 / One UI Watch 8.0.
  • For the health fixes, try a short run or swim to let the sensors recalibrate.

Why it matters

With the Galaxy Watch Ultra already running stable One UI 8 Watch and newer Watch8 models shipping with it, this beta looks like the final stop before the stable rollout for the Watch7 series. By focusing on fitness accuracy, security, and daily reliability, Samsung is giving Watch7 users a near-ready experience ahead of the full release.
