A new era begins with the Made by Google showcase

Google has confirmed that its next hardware showcase will take place in New York City on August 20 at 1 PM Eastern, with the spotlight firmly on the new Pixel 10 family. The event will not only feature the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and the larger Pixel 10 Pro XL, but also the redesigned Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which is shaping up to be one of the most important foldables of the year. The company’s own reveal schedule details what is expected at the livestream, including updates to watches and earbuds, alongside the phones.

Pixel 10 gains telephoto camera and stronger battery

For the first time, the entry-level Pixel receives a telephoto lens. The Pixel 10 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultrawide, and an 11-megapixel telephoto, joined by an 11-megapixel selfie camera. A 6.1-inch OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh and 2,500 nits peak brightness makes it a strong competitor in the compact flagship space. It also comes with a 4,970 mAh battery and support for both 30 W wired charging and Qi2 wireless. US pricing is expected to start at 799 dollars.

Pixel 10 Pro introduces Camera Coach

The Pixel 10 Pro steps up to a 6.7-inch OLED display with a brighter 3,000-nit panel, Tensor G5 power, and 12 GB of RAM. Its rear cameras include a 50-megapixel main sensor, 48-megapixel ultrawide, and 48-megapixel telephoto with 5x optical zoom, while the front camera jumps to 42 megapixels.

Google is also debuting Camera Coach, an AI guide that suggests real-time adjustments for framing and lighting. Early previews suggest it will help average users take more professional photos without effort. A 4,870 mAh battery keeps it running, and pricing is expected to remain at 999 dollars in the US.

Pixel 10 Pro XL brings bigger screen and more power

For buyers who want extra space, the Pixel 10 Pro XL offers a 6.9-inch display with the same 3,000-nit brightness and 120 Hz refresh. It mirrors the Pro’s camera system but pairs it with a larger 5,200 mAh battery. Industry reports suggest it will cost 1,199 dollars, about 100 dollars higher than the Pro, reflecting both its screen size and a jump to larger base storage.

Pixel 10 Pro Fold sharpens design and lowers the price

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is easily the boldest addition to the lineup. It combines an 8-inch OLED inner display with a 6.4-inch cover screen, both with 120 Hz refresh and brightness up to 3,000 nits. The foldable also brings IP68 water and dust resistance, a stronger hinge, and a reduced crease. Cameras include a 48-megapixel main sensor, 10.5-megapixel ultrawide, and 10.8-megapixel telephoto, with two 10-megapixel front cameras covering both displays.

A 5,015 mAh battery supports 30 W wired and Qi2 wireless charging. Pricing is tipped at 1,799 dollars in the US, which makes it slightly cheaper than its predecessor. The design improvements, including a new Moonstone finish and a hinge that appears nearly invisible when unfolded.

A stronger challenge for Apple and Samsung

With a clear push toward brighter displays, larger batteries, and practical AI features like Camera Coach, Google is positioning the Pixel 10 series as a serious competitor to both Apple and Samsung in late 2025. The inclusion of a more affordable foldable could be a turning point for Google’s hardware strategy, bringing premium design to more buyers.
