HMD Global has unveiled the Ivalo XE, a purpose-built secure 5G smartphone under its new HMD Secure arm, designed, developed and assembled in Europe. It is aimed at sensitive sectors from government agencies to emergency responders with a focus on supply-chain integrity and enduring security.
This 6.32-inch FHD+ handset uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection, runs on Qualcomm’s Dragonwing Q-6690 chip, and packs 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and a 4500 mAh battery.

Built tough, it meets IP68, IP69K and MIL-STD-810H certifications, ensuring resilience in extreme conditions.
Security is layered: dual encryption, anti-tamper safeguards, secure boot, fingerprint access, screen stealth mode, a secure element and a hardware kill-switch make it highly impervious.

Connectivity is equally specialized. It supports 20 5G bands, Wi-Fi 7, tactical networks and private setups, and includes dedicated PTT/SOS keys plus a modular connector for mission-specific accessories like tactical radios.
HMD is backing the Ivalo XE with a full “360° ecosystem” spanning partners like Nokia, Bittium, Juggernaut, Tutus and Qualcomm. The device comes with long-term support available for three years and receiving up to seven years of security updates.
The launch solidifies HMD’s strategy of delivering sovereign European mobile technology, appealing to customers who need traceability, trust and longevity in their devices.
