Honor Magic8 Pro: Honor Magic8 Pro leaks reveal a huge 7,200mAh battery, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, 200MP periscope zoom camera, and super-bright 1.5K display ahead of its October 15 launch in China.

Just days before its launch, the Honor Magic8 Pro has appeared online with major specs and a Geekbench listing. The phone is set to debut in China on October 15, and leaks suggest it could be one of Honor’s most powerful flagships yet. With big upgrades in performance, battery, and camera, the Magic8 Pro looks ready to compete with the top phones of the year.

Power and performance

The Magic8 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. A Geekbench listing for model HONOR BKQ-AN00 confirms the presence of the Qualcomm SM8850 chipset paired with 16GB RAM, running on Android 16-based MagicOS 10. The device achieved impressive benchmark scores 3,424 in single-core and 10,318 in multi-core tests showing that this is a flagship built for speed and efficiency.

Honor is also expected to include an AI-focused trigger key, tied to the brand’s MagicGUI multimodal AI, enabling instant on-device AI actions such as visual searches, voice assistance, or creative image restyling.

Camera: the 200MP zoom monster

The Honor Magic8 Pro will feature a triple rear camera system that includes:

  • 50MP main camera (f/1.6 aperture, 23mm lens)
  • 50MP ultrawide camera
  • 200MP periscope telephoto lens (85mm, f/2.6)

The 200MP telephoto sensor is shaping up to be one of the most powerful zoom cameras on any smartphone, boasting 5.5-stop CIPA stabilization for blur-free long-distance shots. Combined with Honor’s AIMAGE / Nox Engine image processing, the Magic8 Pro aims to deliver crisper detail, better dynamic range, and reduced noise.

On the front, a 50MP selfie camera is expected, offering high clarity for both photography and video calls.

Big, bright, and eye-safe display

The Magic8 Pro will feature a 6.71-inch quad-curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The panel supports TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Protection 5.0, ensuring eye comfort during long sessions. It is also expected to offer up to 6,000 nits of HDR brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, providing smooth and vivid visuals even under bright sunlight.

The design features minimal bezels and premium color options like Rising Sun Golden Sands and Azure Blue, giving the phone a luxurious finish.

Battery life that redefines endurance

Honor’s focus on endurance continues with a massive 7,200mAh battery, paired with 120W wired fast charging. The phone will also include an AI voltage stabilization system, which reportedly reduces power draw by around 13%, extending battery life and maintaining stable performance.

This combination of raw capacity and AI-assisted efficiency could make the Magic8 Pro one of the most dependable long-lasting smartphones in the flagship category.

Smarter security and AI control

The Magic8 Pro combines a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor with 3D face recognition for fast and secure unlocking. This dual biometric setup ensures accurate and reliable access, whether in low light or with damp hands.

The device also integrates deeper AI features within MagicOS 10, using on-device intelligence for optimized power management, app prediction, and real-time image processing.

Launch details and what to expect

The Honor Magic8 and Magic8 Pro will officially launch in China on October 15, 2025. Pricing, storage options, and global availability are expected to be confirmed during the event.
