Huawei nova 14: Huawei expands its nova 14 lineup with the nova 14 Vitality Edition featuring a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, dual 50MP cameras, a 5,500mAh battery, and 66W SuperCharge, starting at ¥2,149 ($301) in China.
Huawei’s nova lineup just got a new member. Alongside the nova 14 Flip S, the company has launched the nova 14 Lite, also called the nova 14 Vitality Edition in China. It keeps the same sleek design and OLED screen as the main nova 14 but trims a few features to make it more affordable. This new model offers a solid mix of style, performance, and value for everyday users.
Design and display

The nova 14 Vitality Edition shares the same sleek 7.15mm-thin frame as its siblings, weighing around 191 grams. It comes in three polished finishes Ice Crystal Blue, Feather Sand Black, and Frost White and is built under aluminosilicate glass with IP65 splash and dust resistance

Up front sits a 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution (2412×1084), 120Hz refresh rate, and 300Hz touch sampling, offering vibrant visuals and fluid scrolling. Huawei also includes 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for reduced eye strain and smoother brightness transitions.

Dual 50MP imaging front and back
Huawei continues to emphasize camera performance in the nova 14 Lite. The phone features a 50MP RYYB “Super Sensing” main camera (f/1.9) and an 8MP ultra-wide/macro sensor (f/2.2) on the rear. On the front, users get a 50MP ultra-clear portrait camera (f/2.4) capable of 4K video recording with AIS stabilization.

The camera software offers a familiar set of shooting modes Night, Portrait, Pro, Super Macro, High-Pixel, Timelapse, Slow-Mo, and Voice Capture plus Huawei’s signature AI features like Best Expression, Portrait Retouch, and AI Cloud Enhancement for refined image quality.
HarmonyOS 5.1 with Huawei AI tools
The nova 14 Lite ships with HarmonyOS 5.1, integrating Huawei’s latest AI-driven experience suite. Users get features like AI Anti-Fraud, AI Magic Erase/Move, AI Portrait Retouch, and AI Time Travel, as well as themed additions such as Mood Text and AI Pet Themes. Huawei’s Celia voice assistant (Xiaoyi) and Tap-to-Share connectivity remain onboard.
Huawei did not reveal the exact chipset inside the nova 14 Lite, but speculations suggest it could be the same Kirin 8000 used in the standard nova 14. The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 5.1, offering a consistent experience across Huawei’s latest devices.
Battery, charging, and performance
Powering the nova 14 Lite is a 5,500mAh battery (rated 5,400mAh) supporting 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge via USB-C. Huawei claims the device can reach a full charge in about 0.75 hours using the bundled 66W charger and Turbo mode. The charging speed is slightly slower than the 100W SuperCharge supported by the standard nova 14, but still well above typical mid-range rivals.
The device supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), Bluetooth 5.2 with LDAC and L2HC codecs, NFC, dual nano-SIM, and GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo/QZSS. It also features an IR blaster, stereo speakers, and USB-C digital audio output (3.5mm supported via Huawei adapter).
Security and sensors
A side-mounted fingerprint scanner provides secure unlocking. Additional onboard sensors include ambient light, proximity (software-assisted), gyro, compass, IR, flicker, and color temperature sensors.
The phone also carries an IP65 rating, meaning it is resistant to dust and water sprays under lab-tested conditions. Huawei cautions against submersion or charging the device while wet..
Storage options and in-box extras
Buyers can choose between 256GB and 512GB of storage. The retail package includes everything needed to get started: a 66W SuperCharge adapter, USB-C cable, pre-applied screen protector, TPU case, SIM eject tool, and quick start guide.
Pricing and availability
The Huawei nova 14 Lite (Vitality Edition) launches in China starting at ¥2,149 ($301) for the 256GB model and ¥2,449 for the 512GB version. Prices reflect a ¥50 promotional discount at the time of listing on Huawei’s Vmall.
The Lite model delivers a familiar nova design and a flagship-grade display, cutting costs slightly through slower charging and possibly a toned-down SoC. Still, the combination of dual 50MP cameras, HarmonyOS 5.1 intelligence, and solid build quality makes it a compelling mid-range entry for late 2025.
