Apple has released iOS 26 Developer Beta 9 (build 23A5336a), replacing the previous 23A5330a version and arriving just days before its iPhone 17 event.
This build is focused squarely on refining the experience. Developers are seeing performance and reliability upgrades, smoother animations, and better compatibility with system and third‑party apps. No fresh features are included.
The beta rollout also extends to Apple other platforms: iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26, and HomePod 26 all received developer Beta 9 updates today.
This surprise extra beta round comes after Beta 8 was expected to be the final build before release candidates. Apple now seems to be ironing out last‑minute issues before going live.
Anyone enrolled in the Apple Developer Program can install Beta 9 directly via Settings under Software Update → Beta Updates. The public beta release should follow soon.
