iOS 26: iOS 26 lands this fall with a fresh Liquid Glass design, smarter tools, and a Games app. It works on iPhone 11 and newer plus iPhone SE (2nd gen+), but only a few models unlock Apple Intelligence.
Apple’s big iPhone 17 event is almost here, and iOS 26 will launch right alongside it. The update brings a new Liquid Glass look, smarter tools, and even a Games app. Not every iPhone will get the same features, though. Here is the full list of models that qualify this fall.
iOS 26 compatible iPhones list
iOS 26 brings Liquid Glass design, smarter on-screen visual intelligence, Live Translation, stronger call screening, group chat polls, richer CarPlay, new Maps and Music features, digital ID in Wallet, and a new Games app. Extras include upgraded Photos, Reminders, accessibility, AirPods tools, and Family controls. Compatible with iPhone 11 and newer, plus iPhone SE (2nd gen+), rolling out this fall.

Apple Intelligence is not coming to every iPhone
While every device listed above can run iOS 26, not all of them will get Apple Intelligence, the company’s new on-device AI platform. Features like Genmoji, Image Playground, and Visual Intelligence search need stronger hardware and will only be available on:
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
- All iPhone 16 models
If you have an older iPhone, you will still enjoy the refreshed design, Live Translation, smarter call screening, richer CarPlay, and the updated Wallet with digital IDs, but the Apple Intelligence tools will not be included.
Is your iPhone on the list? Here is how to know
If you are not sure which iPhone model you have, go to Settings > General > About and look at Model Name. If your phone is not on the compatibility list, it will remain on iOS 18 security patches for a while but will not gain access to iOS 26’s new features.
