Galaxy Buds 4: Hidden deep in a leaked One UI 8.5 build, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4 icon reveals a softer, rounder redesign and hints at smarter, comfort-focused upgrades for the brand’s next-generation earbuds.
Samsung might have just dropped a quiet clue about its next wireless earbuds. In an early One UI 8.5 build, a tiny icon named “list_ic_earbuds_buds4” was found, confirming the Galaxy Buds 4 are real. It may look like a simple sketch, but it hints at a fresh new design. The small detail is already creating a big buzz among Samsung fans.
When compared with the Buds 3 icon from the same firmware, the Buds 4 appears smoother and rounder, keeping the stem but losing the sharper angles. Visible in-ear tips suggest Samsung is sticking with its proven silicone design for a better fit and stronger noise isolation. This looks like a comfort-first refresh rather than a full redesign.

The icon sits inside Samsung’s official wearable library, alongside other devices, which confirms it is part of the company’s development files not fan art. Firmware traces also list two models, SM-R540 (Buds 4) and SM-R640 (Buds 4 Pro), meaning Samsung is once again planning a standard and Pro version.
Since the Buds 3 launched in mid-2024, a new model fits Samsung’s typical update rhythm. Some reports suggest the Buds 4 could arrive with the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026, though the exact date remains uncertain.
While specs like battery life or drivers are still unknown, the clues point to better comfort, refined ANC, and deeper Galaxy AI features for clearer calls and seamless device switching.
From one tiny icon, a big story unfolds the Galaxy Buds 4 aims to be smoother, smarter, and more comfortable than ever.
