Samsung has rolled out the stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16 for the Galaxy A36 5G and Galaxy A56 5G in South Korea, arriving much faster than anyone expected. The beta program only started a few weeks ago, but both phones have already jumped to stable builds.
The Galaxy A36 5G is receiving firmware A366NKSU2BYI9 along with the September 2025 Android security patch, making this its first major Android OS upgrade. Meanwhile, the Galaxy A56 5G is getting firmware A566SKSU2BYI5, right on schedule according to Samsung’s Korean release plan.
One UI 8 brings a range of upgrades on top of Android 16. Users will notice cleaner menus, a redesigned Quick Share panel, and refreshed Samsung Internet and My Files apps. Apps like Calendar, Reminder, and Alarm also gain smoother workflows, while the A56 highlights improvements in camera, accessibility, multitasking, and productivity. Enhanced privacy features and security updates add extra value.
For now, the rollout is limited to South Korea, but Samsung says other markets will follow in the coming weeks. Owners can check Settings → Software update → Download and install to see if the update is ready.
