Samsung has just introduced the Galaxy Tab S11 series, bringing slimmer designs, brighter screens, and smarter AI features to its premium tablets. With the Tab S11 Ultra now Samsung’s thinnest large-screen tablet yet, these new devices promise power and portability in one. From upgraded S Pen tools to a stronger DeX experience, this lineup is built to handle both work and play with ease.
Slim builds, big screens
The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is Samsung thinnest large-screen tablet yet, measuring 208.5 x 326.3 x 5.1 mm and weighing 692 g for the Wi-Fi version (695 g for the 5G model). The smaller Tab S11 is still slim at 165.3 x 253.8 x 5.5 mm and just 469 g (471 g for 5G). Both are built with sturdy Armor Aluminum and carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Both tablets feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays with smooth 120 Hz refresh rates and brightness peaking at 1,600 nits (1,000 nits in high brightness mode). The Tab S11 Ultra stretches to 14.6 inches at 2960 x 1848 resolution and includes an anti-reflective coating to cut down on glare. The Tab S11 comes in at 11 inches with 2560 x 1600 resolution, balancing portability with sharp visuals.

Redesigned S Pen and creative tools
Samsung has redesigned the S Pen with a hexagonal grip and cone-shaped tip for better tilt recognition, making writing and drawing feel more natural. Quick Tools provide instant editing shortcuts, while Sticky Notes let you capture thoughts directly over documents. The Tab S11 series also comes bundled with offers on creative apps like Goodnotes, Clip Studio Paint, LumaFusion, and Notion, giving users more flexibility for sketching, video editing, or project planning.
Hardware and performance
Both tablets ship with Android 16 and One UI 8, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ 3 nm processor. This chip delivers faster CPU, GPU, and AI performance compared to the Tab S9 series.
The Tab S11 Ultra can be configured with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, while also offering 12 GB + 512 GB and 12 GB + 256 GB versions. The Tab S11 comes in 12 GB + 512 GB, 12 GB + 256 GB, and 12 GB + 128 GB models. Both tablets also support microSD expansion up to 2 TB, giving users flexibility for large files, media libraries, or creative projects.
Battery life is equally strong. The Ultra carries an 11,600 mAh battery, while the Tab S11 comes with 8,400 mAh. Both support 45 W fast charging, ensuring you can get back to work quickly.
Cameras, sound, and connectivity
The Ultra packs a 13 MP main + 8 MP ultra-wide rear camera, while the Tab S11 has a single 13 MP rear camera. Both feature a 12 MP ultra-wide front camera for video calls. Quad speakers tuned by AKG provide immersive sound, and both tablets include an in-display fingerprint sensor and dual SIM support.
For connectivity, the Ultra supports 5G and Wi-Fi 7, while the standard S11 comes with 5G and Wi-Fi 6E.
Smarter AI and upgraded DeX
Samsung Galaxy AI is at the core of the Tab S11 series. Tools like Gemini Live let you point the camera at an object or screen and ask questions in real time. Other AI helpers include Writing Assist for emails, Drawing Assist for sketch clean-ups, and Circle to Search with instant translations.
Samsung DeX now supports Extended Mode, which turns the tablet and an external monitor into a dual-screen setup. Users can drag apps across displays and even create up to four custom workspaces for different tasks. Paired with the optional Book Cover Keyboard Slim, the Tab S11 series feels more like a flexible laptop replacement.
Pricing and availability
The Galaxy Tab S11 starts at $799, while the Tab S11 Ultra begins at $1,199, with the high-end Ultra (16 GB RAM + 1 TB storage) reaching $1,619. Both are available in Gray and Silver from September 4, 2025, with accessories like the Book Cover Keyboard Slim, Frame Cover, and anti-reflective screen protector sold separately.
The Galaxy Tab S11 series refines Samsung tablet formula thinner, faster, and smarter, with displays built for visibility and AI tools built for real work. For those seeking a true laptop alternative in a portable frame, this might be Samsung’s strongest tablet lineup yet.
