One UI 8 Beta 2: Samsung is continuing to refine its foldable experience with the release of One UI 8 Beta 2 for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 in Korea. The new build, version ZYI6, is based on Android 16 and comes with important bug fixes, stability improvements, and the September 2025 security patch. Both models receive the same changelog, regardless of carrier or variant.

Update details for Fold5 and Flip5

  • One UI version: 8.0
  • Android version: 16
  • Galaxy Z Fold5 (Korea, SK Telecom): SM-F946N (SKC)
  • Galaxy Z Flip5 (Korea, Open market): SM-F731N (KOO)
  • Security patch level: September 1, 2025

Fixes included in Beta 2

Samsung has addressed several issues reported by users during the first beta:

  • Fixed an issue where the phone could reset while in use.
  • Fixed DeX settings not being preserved when doing a FOTA update from the previous OS to One UI 8.
  • Fixed the Galaxy Watch7 Clock/Weather app not updating in real time.
  • Fixed a problem where, in KakaoTalk chat rooms, when the camera is running, Multi-window could be forcibly closed.

These fixes should make multitasking, wearable syncing, and DeX mode far more reliable for beta testers.

Availability in Korea

The update is currently rolling out in Korea for both the Fold5 and Flip5. Users who are part of the Samsung One UI Beta Program can access it directly through the Samsung Members app.

How to install the update

To install the latest beta, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install on your device.

Why this matters

While Beta 2 does not bring visual changes, it significantly improves day-to-day performance by fixing the most frustrating bugs from Beta 1. With the added September security patch, Samsung is also keeping its newest foldables safe as it moves closer to the stable release of One UI 8 later this year.
