Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold: Samsung has finally revealed its long-awaited tri-fold smartphone at APEC 2025, featuring a 10-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and an estimated $2,800 price tag.
Samsung just gave the world its first real look at a phone that folds not once, but twice. The new Galaxy Z TriFold prototype has finally made its debut, showing how far smartphone design has come. It is a device that can fit in your pocket yet unfold into a full-sized tablet something tech fans have dreamed about for years.
Samsung’s Boldest Fold Yet

Samsung officially revealed its most futuristic phone at the K-Tech Showcase in Gyeongju, held alongside the APEC CEO Summit on October 28. The prototype was displayed behind glass, but that was enough to draw huge attention. Its dual-hinge design allows it to expand into a 10-inch tablet-like screen or fold down to a 6.5-inch smartphone. The layout is wider and more horizontal, looking like a small tablet PC with three display sections joined perfectly together.

Design and Features
The two hinges create three display zones, letting users switch between phone, mini-tablet, and full-tablet modes with ease. The prototype’s sleek metal body and flexible OLED screen show Samsung’s continued dominance in foldable tech. Even though it is still a prototype, it already looks close to a finished product.

Samsung has not yet confirmed the final name, but it will likely launch as the Galaxy Z TriFold or Galaxy G Fold later this year.
Power, Price, and Purpose
The tri-fold is expected to come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to 16 GB of RAM, and a 200 MP main camera. It reportedly weighs around 298 grams and uses multiple small batteries spread across its folds for better balance.
The price is expected to be around 3 million won ($2,800–$3,000), with an initial limited run of 50,000–100,000 units. Launch markets could include South Korea, China, the U.S., and the UAE.
Rather than aiming for mass sales, Samsung seems focused on showing its technological leadership and premium image.
