vivo G3 5G : The vivo G3 5G arrives in China as an affordable smartphone with a big 6000mAh battery, Dimensity 6300 chip, and a durable IP64 rated design.
vivo has launched the new G3 5G in China as the follow up to the G2. The phone has a plain look, but it comes with features that make it a good choice for its price. It has a big battery, a reliable processor, and a body that can handle splashes. With smooth display, quick charging, and the latest software, it feels made for daily use.
Long-lasting battery with fast charging
One of the standout highlights of the G3 5G is its large 6,000mAh battery. This single cell unit is designed to provide more than a full day of active use, even for heavy users. To balance the big capacity, vivo has included 44W fast charging, which means the phone does not take long to power back up. For people who spend a lot of time on their phones, this mix of long battery life and fast charging makes the G3 5G especially practical.
Camera setup keeps it simple
The camera system on the G3 5G focuses on the basics. On the back, the phone carries a 13 megapixel main sensor with autofocus. On the front, it comes with a 5 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. This setup is not designed to compete with mid range or flagship phones, but it covers everyday needs such as capturing quick shots, social media posts, and clear video calls.

Dimensity 6300 powers the phone
The G3 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. This mid range chip is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, giving users a choice depending on budget and performance needs. Storage options include 128GB and 256GB, though there is a small difference between models. The 6GB + 128GB version uses eMMC 5.1 storage, while the higher configurations rely on UFS 2.2 storage, which is faster and more responsive. Together, the chip and memory options make the phone well suited for tasks like streaming, social apps, and light gaming, while also supporting 5G connectivity.
A display designed for everyday use
The vivo G3 5G has a 6.74-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It comes with a waterdrop notch, a design that may look a little old fashioned compared to punch hole cameras but still helps maximize usable screen space. The display runs at 90Hz, making scrolling and animations smoother than standard 60Hz screens. With a 1500:1 contrast ratio, it promises decent brightness and clarity for daily use.
Software and extra features
The G3 5G runs on OriginOS 5, which is based on Android 15. The phone includes many useful features such as a side mounted fingerprint scanner, dual SIM slots with 5G support, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, an IR blaster, a USB-C port, and even a 3.5mm headphone jack. A notable addition is its IP64 rating, which offers some protection against dust and light water splashes, making it more durable in everyday conditions.

Price and availability in China
The vivo G3 5G has launched in China in a Diamond Black finish. The 6GB + 128GB version is priced at 1,499 yuan, which is about $210 / ₹18,000, while the 8GB + 256GB model costs 1,999 yuan, or around $280 / ₹24,000. vivo is aiming this phone mainly at the offline retail market in China.
