Vivo X300 Ultra: Vivo X300 Ultra leak points to dual 200MP cameras, Sony IMX09E main sensor, and a redesigned periscope with G+P optics, setting up one of 2026 most advanced camera flagships.

The Vivo X300 Ultra looks set to be one of the most ambitious smartphones of 2026. According to new leaks from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, Vivo is working on a flagship designed to push smartphone photography to new heights. Early prototypes reportedly include a dual-200MP camera system, a redesigned periscope telephoto lens, and a complete optical refresh across all three rear cameras.

Sony IMX09E at the core

The main sensor is said to be Sony brand-new IMX09E, a 200MP sensor built on a 22nm process. It features a 1/1.12-inch format with 0.7µm pixels, which is large for a smartphone and promises improved light capture. The sensor supports Hybrid Frame-HDR (DCG+VS) for cleaner highlights and fewer motion artifacts. Thanks to its larger Full-Well Capacity, the IMX09E should produce lower noise and smoother tonal transitions, with a rated 100dB+ dynamic range. It also offers 2x and 4x lossless in-sensor zoom and a 16-channel OCL autofocus system, delivering sharper details and faster subject tracking in all conditions.

Three lenses, full refresh

The camera setup goes further with a Sony IMX09A secondary sensor and a redesigned periscope telephoto. This periscope uses a glass-plastic (G+P) internal focusing system, which could reduce focus breathing, improve clarity at high zoom levels, and even allow tele-macro photography. A third lens is tipped to be Sony LYT-828 ultra-wide, praised for its balance between edge sharpness and natural color reproduction.

Together, these three lenses signal a complete optical overhaul rather than a minor update, with noticeable gains expected in distortion control, HDR quality, and low-light shooting.

Practical benefits and timing

For users, this means richer daylight highlights, quicker and steadier autofocus in low light, and cleaner zoom performance. Video recording could also benefit from smoother exposure transitions and fewer HDR flickers.

The X300 Ultra is still in the engineering stage, so details could change before release. The role of the LYT-828 is not final, and the ¥200M (~$27–30M) figures mentioned in leaks point to industry investment, not pricing. With Qualcomm Snapdragon 8E5 Ultra platform expected under the hood, the device is on track to be a true camera powerhouse.

If the leaks hold, the Vivo X300 Ultra could debut in 2026 as one of the first smartphones to bring dual 200MP cameras into the mainstream.
