Xiaomi slipped up and briefly showed a new avatar on its official Weibo that seems to give away the design of its upcoming Xiaomi 17. The image depicts a large secondary screen built into the back, possibly behaving like a folding display.
Visible in the leak is a bold camera layout two large lenses inside a wide horizontal module, with a smaller lens plus LED flash placed outside that arrangement. “LEICA” branding sits next to the setup.
The most striking detail is the inlaid back display integrated into the camera housing. It appears capable of showing time and more, though full functionality remains unknown.
It is still unclear whether this leaked image belongs to the regular Xiaomi 17 model or the Pro/Pro Max variant. Earlier leaks suggest the Pro may have placed the LED flash inside the main housing module unlike what’s seen here.
After the leak, Xiaomi switched its Weibo profile back to promoting the MIX Flip 2 Diamond Limited Edition. Fans are now waiting for the formal launch of the Xiaomi 17 series, expected later this month.
